Day 38
Ok. This has been a bad month. 2 weddings and a birthday party is not very condusive to losing weight. Last night I took my mom home from my grandma's and she wanted to stop for KFC for my dad. I told her I didn't want anything. Well, after we got the food and left we discovered they had given us an extra bag of food, she sent the KFC home with me. So, I had a piece of chicken and some mac & cheese. Maya ate, Thom came home from work and ate, and then I gave the rest of it away. I realize it's fast food but dang, yesterday was my first day shift and I couldn't move and I really didn't want to cook so I did it. I ate KFC. Last time. But to make it 37 days isn't so bad. :)

Ok I'm back on track today. I'm carrying my little book around with me and writing down all my fat calories for the day. I will one day be hot.

Congrats Jaime on 30 plus days!!! I have still refused to eat Fast Food. I am trying really hard to give up coca cola but failing.......... I am trying to make healthier choices when I eat. I am still Fat, but someday I wont be. I need someone to kick my butt into gear to go to the gym!!!!! Please help me ladies!~~~~

Today Brian and I walked into town, had lunch at a local sandwich shop, and walked home. We estimate that we walked about a mile. I'd like to make it a daily thing (the walking, not the lunching out). We'll see how that works out. I had a veggie sandwich in a lawash wrap and water to drink.
At work, I had a can of tuna (no mayo), a cup of yogurt, and a snack-sized can of peaches (I did have some popcorn, too). I had Propel water to drink.
After getting my bloodwork results back from my doctor, I really really need to get my butt out of bed and at least go for a walk or something.

Ok, Im back.....calllll it a little mini vacation....I havent been following the rules totally, but I dont deserve to get kicked of the island yet either! I had a slightly emotional weekend so on sunday, I ate like it was my job..... I had pizza and Mcdonalds, yup sure did. I know I have to get back on the horse again though. I'm participating in the biggest loser competition and I've only lost 7lbs. This frustrates me some because I know I've only been 1/2 assin' it...think of what I could have lost had I really been busting some tail! Dropping 7lbs is better than gaining it tho I guess.... Ok, girls, I'm back.....

I'm here! I've been doing good with no fast food, aside from the occasional slice of pizza. I've been trying to be more concious of what I'm eating and paying more attention to food labels. I'm very glad for this group, because it makes me accountable. I had tried to swear off fast food on my own before, but failed miserably. I went to the doctor yesterday, and while I didn't lose much weight from my last visit (I didn't gain, though!), my blood pressure is better.
I'm still trying to wake my ass up in the morning to go for a walk, but it's not working out so well. I just cannot get out of bed! Even if I set my alarm, I just turn it off. Sometimes I don't even realize that I turn it off. I did go for a long walk on Sunday in Seven Lakes State Park after I bought a bright orange sweatshirt. But once a week certainly isn't enough.
So, that's where I'm at now.

Day 30

It is day 30. 30 days with out fast food and to be honest I don't want any fast food. I want a freaking coney dog. :) Not any better but not fast food and I just may have one for dinner. Today has been a rough day I've been eating the healthy stuff but none of it is doing what I want it to do so I haven't been satisfied. So I'm getting a coney. I'm getting bitched at by everyone I work with but damnit I want one and I've done pretty damn good thus far.
Breakfast - Maya switched it up today and made me breakfast she got me a bowl of fiber one carmel delight cereal
Snack - couple slices of swiss cheese
Lunch - bowl of my south beach cereal. I love that stuff
Dinner - I'm having 2 coney dogs. I don't know where they fall exactly in my diet list but I can tell you it's not gonna be pretty. :)

Day 29
I'm tired and sick of drinking. Not the healthiest weekend at all. But no fast food. I'm not gonna even bother telling you how unhealthy this weekend is as I'm not really sure. I just know I've eaten a lot of crap and it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not good. Back on track starting tomorrow. Go to day shift starting this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to start walking again, right Jamie. :)
Yesterday I had a slice of pizza. Actually, it was more like two slices put together, it was huge. I also had a lettuce wrap sandwich thingy that I made. I'm starting to use romaine lettuce leaves instead of bread for sandwiches. And for dinner, I had pork chops cooked in cream of mushroom soup, potatoes, carrots, and onions.
Today I'm planning on going to the store, buying a bright orange sweatshirt, and go for a long long walk.

Day 28
12 pounds. I've lost 12 pounds that's a freaking turkey. Well so far so good even with all my nights of drinking tonight will be another one.
Still no fast food but hasn't been the best day so far it's been a hang over day and we have another birthday party tonight.

Well.... not eating fast food here... being broke helps! haaaa Today just had some ramen noodles for lunch.... then some ramen noodles for dinners.... thats a total of 50cents! lol had 1 and a half cokes and that about wraps it up for today. Not good at all, but no fast food. Oh yes don't forget the slurpee!

Day 27
Holy moly it's amost 30 days.
Ok this won't end up being the best day ever as I went out to lunch with Thom today and we are having a small get together tonight. That damn alcohol. :)
Breakfast - 1 cup of cereal w/ 1/2 cup of skim milk 210 calories & 15 fat calories
snack - 1 slice of bread and 4 slices of ham 180 calories & 175 fat calories
liquid - cranergy 40 calories & 0 fat calories
lunch - Turkey rueben
Dinner - 1 cup of cereal w/ 1/2 cup of skim milk 210 calories & 15 fat calories
cranergy - 40 calories & 0 fat calories
Ok I'm not going to get specific here because who knows how much that damn reuben was. According to my book generic reubens are 460 fat calories. This one was made from turkey I wonder if that helps any. Man that was so not good. I guess I won't be doing that again.

Ok so I'm completely excited about this new diet. It actually makes sense so I think I will be more apt to follow it than any of the other don't eat this don't eat that, stand on your head for an hour then drink snake venom type diets. :) (not that I've really seen one like that but I'm sure it exists somewhere)
Well anyway it's "Choose to Lose". All you are doing is watching your fat calorie intake. You pick your specific weight that you want to be and eat for that weight. It makes perfect sense. We'll see in a week or two how I'm doing. Got on the scale and I'm down 10 pounds since I've started FFA. 10 whole pounds in 26 days. There hasn't been much exercise lately as I've been busy moving and nursing my knee. Hopefully they can fix that and I'll be back to normal again.
Ok I'll give you the lowdown for my food intake for the day since I already know what dinner is going to be. According to the diet I'm supposed to eat at least 1750 calories a day and have no more than 351 fat calories a day so I'll break it down for you so you can see how I'm doing on the diet.
Breakfast - 1 cup South Beach Strawberry Harvest Crunch w/ 1/2 cup skim milk = 210 calories and 15 fat calories
Lunch - 1/2 cup dried fruit = 240 calories & 0 fat calories & 1 slice of flax & grain bread 140 calories & 35 fat calories, 2 slices of ham 70 calories & 20 fat calories with honey mustard 10 calories 0 fat calories.
So my total so far for breakfast and lunch is 670 calories and 70 fat calories
Snacks - south beach cereal bar 140 calories & 45 fat calories, 2 cups diced pine apple 280 calories and 0 fat calories.
Total thus far = 1090 calories and 115 fat calories.
Dinner will be Lein Cuisine bowl 250 calories and 20 fat calories
Total thus far is 1340 calories and 135 fat calories.
I picked Maya up from school today and she went to taco bell for lunch. I did not order food. Believe it or not I didn't want anything food wise I did order a pop though. So the calories for that is 440 calories and 0 fat calories.

Ok so this is the whole reason for the post. I found this book called choose to lose and it seems like it will be a great help. Instead of not being allowed anything you are allowed whatever you want you just have to watch the calories from fat that you are eating. It gives you an allowance per day of how many fat calories that you are allowed to eat and it tells you how many minimum calories that you have to eat in order to maintain a certain weight. I just started reading it and I'm pretty excited about it. I won't exactly get to start it tomorrow as I have a morning meeting and we are all having to go to Olive Garden for lunch. I'll be getting the soup and salad of course. Only this time with out the cheese. :)
Well if anyone wants to tell me their ideal weight I'll let you know what the book says you should be eating for fat calories. I'm supposed to be eating no more than 351 fat calories a day to be in the "healthy for my height" range.

Well Friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner for Mike's wedding, it was a mexican buffet. I need to get back to posting every day but I've been so busy. I'm forgetting what I had. I know that I've drank a lot of beer and tequila this weekend. I know I haven't had any fast food but I did have pizza last night. It was fan freaking tastic let me tell you!

Today I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios and a soup-in-a-bread-bowl thing from the Renaissance Festival. I took an hour walk in the Seven Lakes state park. I would've been there longer, but I didn't realize that they allow hunting back there. I left after I ran into a group of hunters (I posted pics on my myspace page).
We have no thawed food, so once Brian gets home we're going to decide where we want to eat for dinner.

Today Brian and I went to the cider mill and got donuts. Bad, bad, bad, I know. And I failed completely at my goal of getting up early to go for a walk before work. I just can't pull myself out of bed for some reason.
Today I ate some vegetable soup, a ham sandwich, steak and potato for dinner, and of course, cider and donuts.
I did get Brian to go walking with me this evening around our neighborhood instead of going to Dairy Queen.

Day 19
Well found out yesterday that I may be going in for surgery on my knee. My knee was so disgustingly swollen yesterday after going to the doctor. He screwed me all up. Thinks I've torn my miniscus in my knee. So that is going to mess up my weight loss.

I am starting a detox tomorrow.... I have done this one before and was amazed at the results, but it is A LOT of work, and A LOT of vitamins.... yummy ;0
Breakfast is a tofu smoothie... so looking forward to that!
Lunch and dinner is 1/2 c. brown rice and steamed veggies. For dinner you can have 3 oz. fish or grilled chicken. Oh, and all the veggie broth you want!!! (Homemade with seeweed! Mmmmm.)
I know it sounds so delish, right? But I lost like 10 lbs in a week on it and lost my sugar cravings (and my appetite).

Ok so I cheated again! Terrible I know and had I not gone all day without eating and been a raging Bia!! I probably wouldn't have eaten it. Was out w/ the parents and they stopped at mcdonalds and wouldn't stop any where else. They say you can eat here or you will be hungry while we run the rest of their erronds...at 630pm, so I ate at McDonalds. Had a fish filet and a small coke w/no refills. I felt a little better after seeing the article that Jaime has that said the fish filet was one of the better things to get at mcdonalds.... Well back on track now if only able to just elminate all bad foods.

Replace narcotic drugs with fast food and there we are. All of us. Some of us are in recovery and some of us are obviously in denial. It's been 2 weeks and we've had 3 cheats. That to me sounds like a serious addiction problem. Ok kids lets rally behind one another and get strong. Do what JP did. Send someone a text message, they'll guilt you out of it. It's for your health, this is why we are doing this.
If you haven't seen supersize me I suggest that you rent it. It's insane.

Lunch - Jimmy John's we were at Great Lakes shopping and this was the healthiest thing around. I had an unwich. (note technically this is fast food but this is one of the ones we decided was ok) I had a coke as well but it tasted all funky so i dumped it out and got a crystal light instead. I guess when you go so long with out coke it ends up tasting kinda funky.
Dinner - I had 1 1/2 red hot sausages. Those things are spicy.
Dessert - I took Maya to Mr C's for some ice cream since she got all of her spelling words right. I had a scoop of mint chocolate chip. Best freaking ice cream scoop I've ever had lol.

Yesterday was crazy - Brian and I had a long drive through the county to get rid of my old car. We ended up skipping breakfast and eating a very late lunch at a coney island in Royal Oak. I had a Gardenburger with all the veggies. For dinner we had lemon chicken with rice.
Today I had left over beef stroganoff and 1/2 cup of Jello. I'm going to my sister's house for dinner tonight and I have no idea what she will be making.
On Friday afternoon, I had pizza too. Brian really wanted it, so we ended up going to Pizza Hut for their lunch buffet. I stuck with the thin crust veggie pizza. My goal for this week is to stay after work and walk at least 30min on the treadmill at least three times this week.

I'm cheating, I'm cheating, I'm cheating...
Ok, I am posting BEFORE I cheat this time. I just wanted to post that as soon as my whiny, cranky, full of piss and vinegar brats are sleeping I am getting some food. I don't even know where I'm going but it's gonna be fast and it's gonna be nasty. That's right, I said it. I don't even feel all that bad about it tonight. Sorry.
I suppose I'll be banished from here on out. I still can't believe all you bitches managed to not cheat once and I'm on number 2 already....literally most likely after I eat what I eat. So, I'll take my banishment if that is the punishment you all decide to mete out....mmmm...meat........

no coke is killing me.....i have had a headache for 4 straight days now..... Today I really wanted a nice fat bag o'doritos out of the vending machine for breakfast, but I stuck to my yogurt and oatmeal. Can we add vending machine goodies to the "no fast food" guidelines? if you look the nutritional info on that junk, its no better than fast food, and its just as addictive. Let me know.

Day 13
Ok didn't really get any exercise this morning, unless you count cooking and cleaning. I did lots of that. Other than that not much else. I got 36 minutes on the wii fit last night before I passed out. Today I baked a turkey breast. It was so good, probably the best turkey I've made. Not that I've made many but man this was tasty. So I'm gonna post the recipe for it since it was so fabu. Kroger had the frozen turkey breasts on sale for 99cents a pound.
Here's what I had today.
Breakfast - My oh so tasty cereal
Lunch - Turkey what else ;o)
Dinner - apple, cucumber, and some turkey.

Fabu Turkey Breast
(for Lisa) Let turkey breast thaw :)
Pre-heat oven to 350
Take some margarine or oleo or evoo which ever you prefer and rub all over the turkey. Separate the skin from the turkey but don't tear it and put the margarine or whatever it is you use in between the skin and the actual turkey breast. After this salt and pepper the turkey make sure you get inside the cavity with the salt and pepper.
Put the turkey in a glass cake pan type pan breast side down. Slice up an apple and throw half the slices inside the turkey. (eat the other ones or throw them in the bottom of the pan.)
Pour a cup or so of 100% natural apple juice into the bottom of the pan. Stick a glass measuring cup or some other type of bowl that can go into an oven in the pan with the turkey put about a cup or so of of apple juice into that bowl. Cover the entire pan and all it's contents with foil.
Bake it for as long as it says on the package basting the turkey every hour or so. Check the temperature. If the temperature is between 165-170 flip the turkey over in the pan so the breast side is now up. Take off the foil and put the turkey back in for another 10-15 minutes so it can get a nice golden color.
Find someone that can carve the turkey and enjoy.
Mine was a little over 7 pounds and took 3 hours to cook. Doesn't take that long at all and it's all white meat and healthy. You know exactly what you are putting on it and it's so very good.

Finally...
Well last night I finally went to the gym after work! Felt good to get back, been a while. Got a notebook and started writing down everything I eat, makes it a little easier when making decisions about what to eat.
It is getting easier I think!!
I am getting used to this no fast food thing. It is even easier when your sick and don't feel like eating at all (LOL). Despite someone trying to talk me into cheating.. I have been doing well.

Day 12
Ok so far so good. Didn't get any exercise in so far today. Spent all morning at my house cleaning and then went straight to work. So that means it's off to the wii fit for me when I get home from work. I'm glad all my girls are back posting that left me for so long. JP I'm so happy you texted me when they were eating fast food! That's what we're here for! Next time be in Cabo when someone is eating fast food around you so I can bring you a cereal bar there. :) (Just a side note, don't ever eat Burger King in Cabo no matter how hung over you are.) So this is where I'm at today.

Sorry everyone..... I was having a blonde moment and couldnt find the web page. I have been great...... not one ounce of Fast Food. Not to say it has been easy, but I am making it. I am sooo glad everyone is staying focused and on track. NO Jaime I was not hiding in the corner with a sweet tea.....Today I had a banana for breakfast and a Tunafish sandwich for lunch. I drank water and Honest T green T (it has no calories, 0 grams of fat). Now that I am at work I am having my downfall bottle of Coke. I can't exercise right now because it hurts me to move. I have bronchitus and it is killing me!!!! As soon as I am better I am going to utilize my gym membership (I might need a push from those puppies the 1st day or 2). I am really ready to do this though...................... Good Luck ladies.......

I'm here, I'm here...please dont let those puppies attack me like that poor little kid! I have to post right now because dayshift just made a Mcdonalds run!! The center now smells like one big fat dripping in ketchup and onions double cheeseburger! .....yet here i sit with my fruit cup.....and I do think that cutting out fast food can make you cranky....i have an article that I kept that talks about the addictive qualities of the food. If you really think about it, we are all going thru withdrawls right now..... I'm not sure whats easier to kick...crack or french fries?

Ok, seriously I am a raving bitch!!! I am angry and upset. This couldn't possibly be the whole no fast food thing, right??? LOL...I suppose it is probably my new birth control but I'm blaming McDonald's withdrawals. I am about to SNAP!!!!
Oh well...cooking dinner isn't nearly as hard as I thought it was! I'm making crap but at least I'm making it instead of some pimply faced 16 year old wearing a paper hat.

Ok total lack of exercise so far today. So I gotta go up and do some wii fit. Just figured I'd check in.
Breakfast - Bowl of caramel delight fiber 1 cereal. (got some more of my favorite cereal today guess what I'll be having tomorrow. :)
Lunch - Today was the big day. Went to the deli and let me tell you it was fan-freaking tabulous if anyone is in the area I highly suggest going to that hoffmans deli 14mile/crooks. Had the #18 lean dreams or something like that. Turkey coleslaw and russian dressing. No fast food.
Dinner - Veggie burger, baked beans, & green beans. I have to tell you that we didn't tell Maya what we were eating and she so knew something was up with the veggie burger she kept scrunching her face. Then after she finished we told her. She wasn't happy with us. She called it the sucky burger instead of veggie. Oh I had to laugh.
For snacks I had Quaker Mini Delights Chocolatey Mint. Those are freaking tasty too. 90 calorie snack packs they are rice cakes and ohhh so tasty. They do not contain any high fructose corn syrup.
Just figured I'd pass that on if anyone is looking for a tasty dessert snack type deal. Pretty yummy.

I went and bought some of those SlimFast shakes, thinking they would be good on the go. They don't taste good at all. I don't recommend them. Now I'm stuck with a box of SlimFast, lol!

Day 10
Look I almost became one of you non posting people. :0) Well gotta do this quick off to pick up Mo and headed down to Troy. Did my walk yesterday didn't do the full 2.5 yesterday we ran into a family crises while walking so we hurried home to see the boys before they left.

Big Savings!!!! money and calories....
So far so good! I figured out that on the way to work, I have saved myself for the past 7 days.... 4830 calories, 126 grams of fat and $29.61!!! I can't believe how many calories I was eating by letting McDonalds make my lunch for me before work! I was just so easy to stop, now I am getting up a little earlier and eating cereal or yogurt.
Then I started thinking about on the way home from work....aka....loyal taco bell customer lol I figure I was eating there after work about 4 times a week. Now I am saving myself 5280 calories, 184 grams of fat, and approx $24.
It was startling after looking at the amount of extra calories I was eating since I was eating dinner at work.... and we all know that isn't even healthy. After looking at the number of 10,110 EXTRA calories.... WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!! I guess I didn't realize how much savings... calories, grams of fat (310) and MONEY ($53.61) i was consuming and am now saving instead!
If they say that every 3500 calories creates a pound.... thank you taco bell/mcd's thats like 2.88lbs per week i've gained!!!!!
The hardest part of this was for me to get the motivation to start cooking, but that seems to be going a little better. Yesterday I bbq'd and today I made shrimp and angel hair pasta. The shrimp was cooked w/ butter and was kinda crispy, not to be confused w/ burnt... ok over done... lol I'll get the hang of it!

Day 9
Ok here is day 9 of FFA. I am down 5 pounds already in 9 freaking days. I guess eating fast food at least once a day 5 days a week really isn't good for you. I've been doing alright not great by any means but alright. I've went for my walk again today. Today I had no one to go with and instead of sitting on my ass which I normally would do I went for the walk, and I went further than I have before. According to CAD it's 2 1/2 miles, I don't know how much I believe that as we know how crappy CAD is but kinda makes me feel good. :) As soon as I get to days I'll be dragging Jamie along with me on night walks and JP or Melissa on lunch time walks. :) So that's where I stand.

Lunch - 2 veggie burger patties (no bun, no sauce)
Dinner - bowl of fruit, carrots, & a grape fruit

I've been sticking to the plan. No fast food! I did good with that, but not so good with the healthy eating. My parents and my sister came over for dinner on Friday, and the chicken I made wasn't exactly the most healthy. Then my sister brought a cherry pie, and of course left it at my house. Not good.

Ok after having ordered that double cheesburger from McDonald's I am doing good again. That has been my only slip, although I know I am the only one of us who has slipped .... yet. LOL So, I am back in the saddle and now that our weight loss challenge has started I am determined to be good. Well... at least until my Vegas trip next month. ;) I really want to get back on phentermine because I did so well last year losing weight on that. I'm trying to go natural though because I doubt I can take those pills forever, even though I would like to. The hardest part
The hardest part about "divorcing" the fast food...is truly my love for Taco Bell....hahahaa. Actually we all have such different schedules in this house that by the time we do get home..."life duties" become more of a priority then healthy eating and/or cooking...so naturally fast food is SO MUCH easier..I must say I have had the same $6 in my purse since Friday..lol...and I cannot believe it but there was no eating out at all for me and/or anybody in my household this weekend...SHOCKING!
I have heard alot of negative about corn syrup but have honestly never researched any of it. I think the hardest part for me is going to be the finding what I should and should not eat...aside from the obvious fresh fruits, fresh vegetables...blah, blah...BORING!!
I agree about the ~ lets get talking ~ COME ON LADIES WE ALL NEED THE SUPPORT!!!!

Day 8
Ok so far so good. Tomorrow is the start of the big diet. Grrr I don't wanna. I know I gotta but I don't wanna. Going on a diet sounds so plain it makes it sound as if my life is going to be bland. But it's only gonna be as bland as I cook it right. So if anyone has any great tasting healthy recipes pass em my way so my life doesn't turn into grey mush.

Ok that is wrong....
I just was checking out the blog and one of the freaking advertisements is from Wendy's. I'm gonna see if I can't have them removed. If not I'm going to remove the advertisements all together.
Day 7
Holy crap it's been 7 days and I haven 't stopped for fast food. That has to be a personal record. I'm so excited I know that I keep saying that but it's true. This is such a good thing and it's so great that we are all here together because believe it or not we are not alone. I woke up a week ago and I had probably the worst day I've had in a very long time. I was supposed to go to my cousins wedding shower and I couldn't find one damn outfit that would fit my fat ass. So after sobbing and having Thom all freaked out that he did something wrong I went shopping and bought a pair of super fat pants and I decided that I was giving up on the fast food. So this is where this came from. I'm glad that you all are as excited about this as I am. If you know anyone that can benefit from this let me know and I'll send them an invite too. It's not that we are boycotting fast food it's that we are boycotting thunder thighs and back fat. So today I didn't do the best but still no fast food. Today was snack day it was getting all the crappy food out of the house before Monday when I have to start dieting. That's such a horrible word. So I'll call it eating healthy I don't know which sounds better. Grrrr. So here is my crappy list of food :).
Breakfast - bowl of south beach diet cereal/that stuff is good
Lunch - mini hot dogs
Dinner - This was snack dinner. We made all of the tastefully simple stuff that we had in the cupboards and cooked it up. This will be my last crappy meal. Had that and some wine. T'was a grand dinner. :)

I have been doing absolutely great, exercise...check....NO fast food...check....no snacking all day...check..... HOWEVER the rainy day is killing me. My boredom has not won so far but it has been extremely difficult...I either want beer or taco bell...lol...they both have been great companions of mine for so long...it is hard to think of life without them. I am figuring out in the last few days how much Taco Bell is a part of my life. Hungover? taco bell....Can't figure out what I am hungry for? Taco Bell.... 3am and I am drunk? Taco Bell.....home alone? Taco Bell........BOREDOM??? yep...TACO BELL.....are we seeing a pattern here.

I think its hard to avoid falling into the fast food trap working where we do...and especially for you nooners and midnighters! it next to impossible to turn it down when everyone is going out every night...anyone ever done a study on how much you spent in one week on fast food? I'm starting the biggest loser competition on monday too...health and finances are two pretty big points of motivation i hope! I hope I'm doing this posting thing right....lol

Today had cheerios and banana for breakfast, turkey sandwich for lunch, chineese sweet and sour chicken for dinner, and then some jalepeno poppers at boomers--not good. Still trying to cut back on the pop, and i miss the fountain coke! The bottles at work just aren't the same.
My goal for tomorrow........will try to only have one coke and drink more water!

It will get easier with time!
Yesterday was a teenie tiny bit easier...... Here is what I had (notice no sweet tea).
Breakfast --- Poptart
Snack --- Cantalope and apple slices with caramel (thanks wiggles)
Lunch/Dinner --- Chicken Shwarma Sandwich and Tabouli
Today even though I was running short on time and rushing around I DID NOT stop at the Fast Food Places I pass all the way to work....

Day 6
Ok so far I've done good. Didn't get my walk in as it's been crappy out but I did go walk around Target for an hour. Not exactly the same but still better than sitting on my butt. Tonight is going to be rough as we are going out. We are going up to Boomers tonight for the benefit so any of you thinking about it come on up! The only problem will be after we leave Boomers, that is usually when I say stop and get me a double cheeseburger. I dunno for some reason beer & grease go well together. And that's one of the reasons I have me a sweet pair of thunder thighs. :) I'm posting this early but I've already made dinner so I can tell you what I will have.

Welcome, Jamie!
I did good today. I had my left over ginormous salad from yesterday. Brian and I were running some errands and he stopped at McDonalds on our way home. I didn't order anything. Yay! I'm hoping this no fast food stuff will rub off on him. I had a ham sandwich later on, and for dinner Brian made enchiladas. But he made sure I wouldn't eat a lot by using hot 'n spicy enchilada sauce. To his defense, he accidentally bought the hot instead of mild. But it made me eat less!

Oh I'm so excited look how our little group has grown. There are 2 of us Jaimes/Jamies here now. For those of you that don't know her she is Bam's girlfriend and a wonderfully sassy person. And if she eats the fast food again we will all egg her car. :) Welcome to all you newbies I'm so excited!!!

My First Post!
Well, I joined the club and you know what they say - any club who would have you for a member is probably not a club you should belong to! LOL Anyhow, y'all are stuck with me. It's been somewhat of a challenge so far. I am having a garage sale this week and it's been tough trying to fix lunch for the kids instead of running up to McD's. Or stopping at McD's for dinner after we close. I'm tired and don't wanna make anything! I'm doing it though. Yesterday my cousin cooked a roast (the garage sale is at her house) and today I made chicken. The boys wouldn't eat it though. Oh well, at least they will eat peanut butter and jelly.
I'm tired. I hope that this whole no fast food thing gives me more energy soon.

Well another day down! It made it a lot easier having already planned what was going to be for lunch instead of scrambling and trying to stop on the way into work. Thanks Miss Sweet Tea for the spaghetti today, very good!! Did pretty good today except for the brownies =) That was a bad idea making them, but they were good.... lol Only had to cokes today and have started drinking more water, instead of my 32 ounce coke on the way into work plus a couple more throughout the day... I'm proud of everyone sticking together, makes it a little easier!

Jaime day 4
Still no fast food. I was starving by the time I got home this morning after taking Maya to school and going to the chiropractor. I didn't stop for fast food, I made eggs and then I went for a walk with Amy. Productive morning.
breakfast - scrambled eggs & ham
lunch - slices of ham and pineapple
dinner - spaghetti & a piece of sponge cake w/strawberries on it.
I know I need to start eating better but for right now the biggest deal is breaking myself of fast food. I'm on my four day weekend so that will help start me in the right direction for cooking all meals.
I must say I'm proud of all you other ffa-ers. Best of luck to you all! And Miss Sweet Tea, stopping for sweet tea at Mickey D's still counts as fast food. :)

For those of us that are used to the convience of fast food... wow this is hard!!! Thank you Jaime for coming up with this great project. Great job so far to all of you! I had to pass McDonalds today without getting my daily sweet tea... I lived!!!!

Today Brian and I went out to lunch. I made it manditory "NO FAST FOOD!" so we settled on Coney Island. Not the most healthy place to eat, but I figured I'd just get a salad. Oh, boy, what a salad it was! It was huge. I had ordered a Grilled Chicken Greek Salad. It seemed like there was an entire chicken cut up and put on top of the salad. I had to dig to find lettuce. Then there was so much feta cheese on it, I didn't even need to use the salad dressing they had on the side. I might've been better off getting a burger! On a better note, I drank water -- no pop!
Well made it all day today! No fast food. Have to admit it was tough this morning on the way to work, very inconvenient! But it forces you to shop and buy healthier items..... like yogurt! Very proud, I choked it all down. =) 1 down and 5 more to go...lol Staying strong, good luck to all for tomorrow!!!

Guidelines
Ok these are the rules, I guess the right term would be guidelines as this isn't a mandatory thing. The entire object of this is to become healthy. So do what's best for you and your body obviously. This isn't a contest, this is a group of us being here for each other so that we all know that we have someone to lean on if we need it.
I guess the only rule that we have is that we are all here for each other and that we all are going to support one another. Unless of course we see you munching on a big mac then it's game on to get you back on track. :) Other than that any sort of mean spirited harassment will not be tolerated. We are all here for the same reason.

Well it's growing. We now have Melissa and Janette to add to the group. Yeah.
Well still going strong no fast food. I almost broke down this morning I had to meet with an appraiser and I didn't have breakfast and I almost did but I knew I'd get yelled at if I did so I waited till I got home and had some breakfast. So the things I have eaten today not all have been healthy as I've had some candy which I really could stop doing but I still have not had a grease filled fast food meal.

snacks - I had a chocolate sucker and these horrible strawberry rollup things that taste so dang good but are going to keep my ass looking so dang huge. Note to self no more of those. Oh and a mini muffin.

Jaime's Food Day 1 & 2
Well yesterday was the start of this as I just happened to wake up fat and I wasn't happy with it. So I gave up fast food. This is the start of me becoming healthy. I will attempt to do the other things that you need to do to be considered healthy but for now my biggest accomplishment will be to give up fast food and to start cooking/making all my meals. So that will be what I'm focusing on the most right now. So to start off here is what I've been eating. No fast food 2 days in a row! I know for you non fast food diners that sounds ridiculous and I agree it is that's why I'm making a change in my life. So to make myself follow some sort of routine I will be letting you all see what it is that I'm eating and make me responsible for my own actions. I work afternoons right now so my eating schedule is a bit funky on days that I work. My breakfast time could be at lunch and I'll eat lunch foods for breakfast and so on.
Day 1
Breakfast - bowl of cereal & microwave breakfast sandwich
Lunch - Some slices of ham, grapes, carrots. I munched on the carrots all day long.
Dinner - Cup of soup and crackers with cheese
Day 2
Breakfast - I got to sleep in until 10am So I didn't eat until I picked my daughter up from school for lunch. We'll call that breakfast though. I had a grilled ham & cheese sandwich and a bowl of italian wedding soup & a piece of star fruit.
Lunch - 2 home made tacos, a couple of slices of ham and carrots. I ate the carrots all day long for a snack.
Dinner I don't know what I'll eat yet as that will probably be around 11pm. I can't wait till I go to day shift in October. Hopefully that will assist with my mission.
Well I'm realizing that this will be a lot harder than it sounds to be honest with myself and with whomever else reads this about what I'm shoving down my throat.

The begining
Yesterday was day one I guess. It was the day that made me realize I need to do something this is ridiculous. I'm a big fat fatty right now and I need to not be. So I'm going to start by cutting fast food completely out of my diet. This will be difficult. I work shift work and I have become pretty reliant on eating fast food quite a few times a week. Whether it's because I'm running late or I'm in the middle of moving it's become quite handy for me to just stop at McDonalds or one of the other ones hand them my debit card and get dinner. So this is me stopping that. No more fast food. I will be eating home made meals once again. So this is going to be mine and my friends journal of making our life fast food free (and hopefully smoking hot too!!!). So as of right now there are two of us. I still have to work on the rest of the gang group to make them all give up the crack that is fast food. So there will be me Jaime & Lisa for your viewing pleasure.
